RIAA Sales Awards

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awards certification based on sales figures. Moondance was certified Gold for more than 500,000 copies sold in November 1976; it was the only award that Klingberg received in his lifetime (the others were awarded posthumously to his children).

Charting Albums and Singles

The remastered Moondance reached #68 on the Billboard Top Album chart in 2013. Van Morrison At The Movies, which includes "Domino", "Moondance", and "Into the Mystic", reached #35 in 2007. The Best Of Van Morrison, which includes "Moondance" and "Domino" reached #71 in 1991 and remained there for 191 weeks.

Curiously, "Moondance," one of Van Morrison's most famous songs, was not released as a single until 1977, and peaked at #92. Several of the songs from Moondance and Street Choir were top 100 singles the year after they were released, according to Billboard:
